Prototype research on visualized geo-modeling support system

The main role of map is confined to representation of various kind of decision schemas and appraisal results. But it almost does no good to the understanding and definition of problems. Concept map is a method supporting for knowledge construction and sharing. We can construct knowledge effectively by concept map, organize knowledge from different experts and users using concept entities and relationships, and release it in graphic in support for geo-modeling. The process of CM-based geo-modeling includes description of system model, user model definition, model construction, model interpretation and transformation, and CASE generation. Then we discuss the application chara cteristics of Model Support System, and CM-Based spatial modeling and work flow. Financially, we study the hydraulic works and other background documentation of Yongding River, Build the concept map model of flood division area of Xiaoqing River, and construct the flood simulation model of Yongding River in visualization environment using concept map. After using the flood simulation results and social and economic statistical data of Yongding River, we appraise the loss of flood disaster and get satisfactory results.
